Question & Answer

We are discussing Journeys through Australia
With Ian Henderson, Leanne Mousley, Bev Malzard

Question:
I’m off to Canberra in the new year to spend some time with my grown children. While they are at work I’d like to explore the place. What’s interesting other than the usual suspects, i.e. Parliament House, War Memorial, National Gallery etc.

Answer:
Bev - One of the great undiscovered treasures of Canberra is the zoo. Yes, a zoo! The national Zoo and Aquarium, Scrivener Dam, Lady Denman Drive, Yarralumla is a treat. You can book special tours inside where you’ll be able to feed the lions, go into the cheetahs enclosure and pat them, walk with a dingo, pat a shark and feed (up a ladder) a giraffe. This is a sensational place for a memorable experience. Bookings are essential, tours operate daily. Tel.: 02 6287 8400 or visit the National Zoo and Aquarium website. Also visit Visit Canberra for some more ideas for fun in the ACT.
